Beweging wordt na voeding het vaakst genoemd als preventiestrategie tegen kanker, maar wordt dat ook bevestigd door de medische literatuur? Het antwoord daarop is niet geheel duidelijk omdat studies verschillende uitkomsten geven en de associatie verschilt per type kanker. Soms gaat het gedeeltelijk om een schijnverband, met name omdat fysieke activiteit ook kankerbevorderend overgewicht terugdringt. Dat neemt niet weg dat er voor enkele typen afdoende bewijs en voor andere duidelijke aanwijzingen zijn dat lichaamsbeweging kanker helpt voorkomen of de vooruitzichten na de diagnose verbetert.
