Lithium als sporenelement
Meer is niet beter
In de psychiatrie is het overbekend, maar als voedingsstof nauwelijks: het sporenelement lithium. Het komt voor in de bodem en het water, we nemen het op via de voeding en hebben er allemaal een bescheiden hoeveelheid van in ons lichaam. Langzaam aan wordt door onderzoek duidelijk dat lithium een breder toepassingsgebied kent. Mits laag gedoseerd, worden gunstige associaties gevonden met psychische en sommige fysieke aandoeningen.
