De medische wereld beschouwt cholesterol nog steeds als de grote boosdoener van het hart, ondanks de vele tegenstrijdige resultaten. Homocysteïne staat veel sterker. Cholesterol zelf is niet toxisch, integendeel is het een levensnoodzakelijke stof. Homocysteïne heeft geen essentiële functie, buiten dat het geproduceerd moet worden. Een noodzakelijk kwaad.
