Als een van de bekendste en meest gesuppleerde voedingsstoffen komt vitamine C weinig in beeld bij de behandeling van kanker. Dat is een groot gemis, zowel vanwege de positieve klinische ervaringen als de theoretische inzichten in de tumorvijandige werking van de vitamine. Vertaling naar de medische praktijk blijft grotendeels uit door beperkingen in het wetenschappelijk onderzoek. De belangrijkste: vitamine C bij kanker vereist hoge doses en intraveneuze toediening.
