Is het ontbijt de belangrijkste maaltijd van de dag? Volgens vele gezondheidsexperts sla je het ontbijt best niet over. Maar de wetenschappelijke bewijzen voor die stelling zijn zwak. Ze is hoofdzakelijk gebaseerd op bevolkingsonderzoek en meestal hebben calorieën de context gevormd van onderzoek. Kijken we meer in de richting van metabolisme en circadiaan ritme, dan lijkt ontbijt wel zijn nut te hebben.
