Nutritionele behandeling van colitis ulcerosa

Fosfatidylcholine is een evidence-based natuurlijke remedie tegen colitis ulcerosa: de klinische studies zijn positief en het mechanisme is vrij eenvoudig uit te leggen. Of extra glutamine ook helpt, bijvoorbeeld ter ondersteuning van de darmbarrière, is relatief minder duidelijk. Behandeling van darmontstekingen kan wel verder uitgewerkt worden met natuurlijke ontstekingsremmers, probiotica en vitamine D. Tot slot komen de speculaties aan bod dat de natuurlijke zoetstof saccharine een key factor is van inflammatoire darmziekten.
