We leven in een wereld van snel uitbreidende
neuropsychologische epidemieën: autisme (ASD), ADHD/ADD,
leerstoornissen, schizofrenie, depressie, bipolaire en andere
psychiatrische stoornissen. Bij kinderen, maar ook bij
volwassenen. Bovendien is er een grote overlap tussen al deze
syndromen, is er grote comorbiditeit met immuniteits- en
gastro-intestinale stoornissen. Bovendien blijken kinderen met
ontwikkelingsstoornissen later een hoger dan gemiddeld risico te
lopen op psychiatrische stoornissen en verslavingen, zowel van
alcohol, drugs als farmaca.
